They refused to let my husband have the banking app on his phone as he is too old! He was 76 when he applied. Do they think everyone who is over 70 is demented LOL.

Don't use an agent. You can do it yourself, although you need to plan it properly.

Thanks. We looked at this a while ago. COVID effectively negated my OA visa. When I tried to reapply discovered my UK insurance was no longer accepted so we both now do retirement extensions to O visas. Therefore two lots of 800 held in our own bank accounts.

My understanding is that if the account holder dies the dependent has to leave Thailand in a very short time.

I did my second retirement extension today in Phuket town. When I enquired about the multi-entry permit, I was told they do do it but charge an extra 700 baht as a service fee. The IO told me it's better to go to Blue Tree (I'm in Kamala) as there's no extra charge to the 3800, although I understand one can do it at the airport before departing.

And you can do on line after registering an account. You'll get a response to confirm your application has been received and then approval within 24 hours. Do not leave it until the last day to report on line as it will count as being late with a resultant fine. Print of the approval form to keep with your passport.

That's why I only visit for 120 days now. Thanks to Nationwide changing from UK Travel to Aviva. And it's nearly twice the price it was.
