it's from the Thai Embassy in Vienna, Austria. I think it's mostly the same in other countries, but would check with the respective embassy or consulate.

you also need this: 2.8 Additional health insurance requirement, the applicant must be medically insured for the entire period of stay in Thailand with the following coverage:

– Outpatient benefit with a sum insured of not less than 40,000 THB, and

– Inpatient benefit with a sum insured of not less than 400,000 THB

I've been thinking the same thing, whenever someone is complaining about this. So many people haven't seen their partners for months on end or even more, so two weeks really should not be a problem. Might be a nice break from each other :).
