Ouch, what an ordeal. I unfortunately didn’t check once and they gave me 1 day instead of 60. By the time I noticed I had already overstayed 6 weeks and ended up forking over 20k at the airport.

They also grilled me at the airport saying something like maybe I made some problem that’s why they only gave me one day.

If I had “made some problem” they would have just denied entry.

Then the officer said it’s too late to call that border office and ask.

Think he was just in a bad mood. Finally let me go after paying for their mistake.

Can you do it at the immigration office where you pay for overstays or do you have to go to the arrivals immigration counters?

Right but was wondering if it could be done at Jomtien immigration or he had to go back to the airport.

I’ve seen people in the past say you should go back to the airport but was wondering if it can be done without the hassle of a round trip to BKK

Thanks, yeah it’s rare but had something similar happen to me before where they were supposed to stamp with with 60 days and instead gave me 1.

Back then I didn’t double check like I do now. Had a nice overstay fine when I found out as I was leaving

He said he didn’t get a stamp, he checked multiple times but he father got his.

He’s heading to Phuket this Sat through BKK, wondering if he can just sort it then or should do it right away
