American, non-retirement age, with long history of only tourist visas here.

Have first Thai child due in early Jan 2024. Plan to marry with gf of 5+ years before I depart September 21, IF I can secure appt with US Embassy BKK (or perhaps CM consulate) to get affidavit re being free to marry etc…if Ubon Amphur requires it, which I’m planning to confirm same post-holiday. I plan to continue to work in US as much as possible while attempting to secure US visa f/ wife and US passport/citizenship f/ child.

My question(s):

- What are my best visa options/extension combos/etc…that will allow me to spend minimum 5-6 months in Thailand without holding funds in a Thai bank OR requiring me to make visa runs?

- What is the easiest visa path that will allow me to get a work permit if wife & I start a business that will allow me to supplement my US income while we wait for the US visa process to complete?

- 2023 was in country from Feb 13 to Sept 21 on air arrival/visa exempt + ext, (Laos) TR60 + ext, (Laos) TR60.

Am I ok to come back between Jan-March 2024 visa exempt?

TIA 🙏🏼

Hello everyone, not sure this is the right group for this but figured I'd give it a shot. I recently married my Thai wife. We are looking to move over to Canada in the next few months and I want to get citizenship for her and our baby on the way. Does anyone here have any recommendations for a good immigration lawyer in Thailand, preferably in Pattaya, but perhaps Bangkok as well, who we can consult with? (I know it's probably best to consult with a Canadian immigration lawyer, but they are super expensive and I wanted to see if I could find someone here in Thailand, first). Thanks!

Apologies for long post and asking a similar question before but need some clarification. (this scenario is all in theory)

So I will give birth to my baby in England in Jan from a Thai man, we are not married (I am British) He will not be present for the birth here in uk so will not be able to register the baby as his at the embassy in London... therefore not getting Thai citizenship until he does.

I want to move to Thailand with our baby maybe in March. I'll get a 60 day tourist visa and extend for 30 days if needed and keep doing so until we register the baby as his (I don't know how to do this so any info would be great about this too) Once the baby has Thai citizenship and has Thai ID card/passport I would like to apply for a non immigrant O visa for accompanying a Thai child. Also If I don't get my baby a visa before it has the citizenship, I wont get in any trouble for overstays etc will I?

On the embassy website it just says this:

'for accompanying a Thai child: A copy of Thai birth certificate, a copy of the Thai child's passport/Thai ID, a copy of marriage certificate to a Thai spouse or divorce paper/child custody paper (in case of divorce), and (3 months bank statement showing monthly income of more than £1,400 annually.)'

where can I find more info? We are not married... is it still possible? And I don't have that income at all, I also heard because I am a farang woman I don't need to show financial evidence but I haven't officially seen it anywhere. How long does this visa last? would I need to do visa runs? would I just do 90 day check ins? How much does it cost? When I get there I will just rely on by bf's income and I will not work... is this okay? When I want to come back to England for holidays will my visa finish and I'll have to do the whole process again? I imagine I'll be going back home at least once or twice a year.

Anyway thank you for reading this, I'm very confused and stressed out, I hope you can help. Any additional advice or info is welcome! TIA :)
