My question is regarding to the re-entry

Currently I am out of Thailand and my re-entry date stamp is on 26 September 2022 Due to some emergency I can’t return on 26 is there any problem from immigration if I return after 26?

If an employer fails to cancel work permit on last day of visa. What are my options to change my extension of stay? Everything expires today. If I am screwed over by this school, and tomorrow I go on overstay, will I be free from the work permit and then be able to apply for covid extension or am I completely out of luck?
