If an employer fails to cancel work permit on last day of visa. What are my options to change my extension of stay? Everything expires today. If I am screwed over by this school, and tomorrow I go on overstay, will I be free from the work permit and then be able to apply for covid extension or am I completely out of luck?

I'm going to shut this down.

1. It sounds like the school may be collecting paperwork to cancel the work permit.

2. The work permit belongs to you, as a person; not a business or government school. The work permit should never leave your sight, especially if you don't trust the people.

3. ONCE the work permit is cancelled, you should be able to get a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 for 1,900 THB :)

I can't see any reason why I should leave this post open.

At the school. I am trying to get it and try to see if I can force the issue. The office staff now says the director went to Chonburi today.

I was just informed that the director told the staff they can't process it today as it is still valid and they paid me for today.

Not exactly sure. I thought I only needed. Letter stating my last day and the work permit. But they had a large list. Also, they said it would require negotiations with the main officer to approve the cancelation today instead of making me wait 3-5 business days. I have been dealing with this ofr for a week.

Weird, normally you will get the paper showing you have submitted to cancel the work permit and this paper works for Visa extension.
