Is it recommended to submit a savings account, without any transactions at all, ans with 19k USD on it for the last three months as proof of the 500k requirement?
Hi everyone, since I currently am on a career break with enough savings, I'm thinking of applying for a DTV and a cooking course. I meet the bank balance requirement - but I wonder if it's an issue that I have no income from a job? (I do have USD 1.3k rental income)
Anybody has recent experience with Budapest Embassy? I have submitted my DTV application with all documents for workation. Application was on April 9th and didn't receive any information if anything missing or needed.
Am I right in interpreting this as saying £11,000 per adult needs to be held in savings? So if adult is on dependent visa, they still need to have £11,000 in addition to the main applicant?
Email from Thai Immigration (UK)
Regarding the DTV for dependents, sponsorship letter is reserved for children under 16 years old only. Dependents under 16 years old are allowed to submit parents' bank statement with the minimum closing balance of £11,000. Please submit the bank statement along with a sponsorship letter from the parent who is the main DTV applicant, his/her passport biodata page, official proof of relationship, and parents' proof of current location (utility bills or a driving license). On the other hand, applicants over 16 years are required to submit their personal financial evidence, showing their name, address, and a minimum closing balance as required by the visa they are applying for.
For further information regarding the DTV requirements, please refer to the details in the email sent on 23 April 2026.
My American fiance and I vacationed in Thailand and fell in love. She wants to learn to cook and I want to learn Muay Thai. We went to Hanoi to apply for the DTV visa and we were both denied within 48 hours with no explanation, they refused to answer any questions, and refused to even meet with us at the embassy in person.
Can anyone offer any advice? We are currently planning on returning to the US in June to re-apply. We're currently on the METV.
Applied DTV soft power via a language school in Chiang Mai (cultural).
Looks like it might get rejected.. received a reply from London embassy as follows:
"Thai Language or Culture learning class is not included in DTV soft power . Kindly ask school to provide the License for Establishing a Non-Formal Private School permitted Thai cooking class issued by Provincial Education Office, relevant Thai Authority"
I don't actually mind doing a cooking course. Should I apply to a cooking school under same application? Thinking otherwise will lose my application fee.
Any recommendations for cooking school or other suggestions in CM area?
Has anybody applied for the DTV under the medical treatment program? What program can pass the requirements? And what are the required documents to submit to the embassy?
Hi can anyone recommend me a good tax attorney here? I am on a dtv visa and work as a full time content creator and I need to know if I need to file taxes here and how to do that.
