I was recently denied entry in BKK due to using the visa exemption on entry too many times. I’m now back in the Uk where I am a citizen.
I did left the kingdom twice last year, each time reset my visa.
I emailed the Thai embassy in London to ask if I could apply for a DTV visa (soft power) and they replied with a very confusing message. They stated I may not be approved for the DTV and that I should apply for a tourist visa. They also said my name is on a blacklist with local immigration.
I have never heard of someone being blacklisted after a denied entry, only after overstays (I have never) or breaking the law. Could it be the email is misunderstood with regards to the phrasing?
Any advice is greatly appreciated, I love spending time in the kingdom and have been a genuine tourist the whole time. Not working etc…
Has anyone been rejected after applying as an employee for the DTV Visa workcation, even though they submitted all the required documents 100% correctly? (no middle name problem, no Problem with the Bank statements, no further visa problems)
Because most of those who were rejected in the group had applied for a soft visa.
Anyone applied for DTV visa from Cambodia? Not sure if I need to be in my Native Country to apply, or if I can apply from any embassy? I am resident in Cambodia.
Embassy; Thai embassy in The Hague, The Netherlands.
1st request; freelancer.
After multiple back and forth requests for additional documents they asked me to deliver contracts of work or clients.
I provided them with a rental contract with a client paying me rent monthly, and provided terms of use and agreements, but couldn't deliver them the contracts they were looking for because that's not something I can deliver in my line of work.
Finally went to awaiting approval and rejected 2 days later.
Reason; Insufficient reasons to apply for this type of visa.
2nd request; Soft power.
I found a Muay Thai school, agreed to a 6-month course, paid in full. Provided all the requested documents and the embassy did not request any further documents. Straight to awaiting approval, rejected 4 days later.
Response; the reasons to apply for DTV are insufficient. The Embassy wishes to suggest the applicant to apply for other type of visa for example, Non-Immigrant.
I am at a total loss, It could be me, but I don't find this an acceptable justification, I can't do anything with this.
I don't know what I did wrong, if I did anything wrong.
I can't talk to anyone to ask them what they mean by insufficient reasons (I provided all the documents as requested and delivered extra information like my rental contract in Thailand and proof of sponsorship, even though I already have more than 500,000 baht in my own bank statements).
I wouldn't even know what to provide now if I wanted to make a new application.
In the meantime, Im due to arrive in Thailand in the upcoming week.
Who from the United States has applied for their DTV visa through the e visa website from the US? How long did it take for your application to process? TIA 🙏🏼
I’m a US citizen currently living in Spain on a student visa. I want to go straight from Spain to Thailand once my visa is up. I’d love to apply for my DTV online but I’m worried that might be complicated since I’m not in my country of origin. There is a Thai consulate in Madrid but it’s kind of far from me.
Has anyone had experience of applying for the DTV online in a country they are temporarily living in? Is it possible or spoils I just go to the Madrid consulate? I’d love to know your thoughts ✨❤️
I have a DTV visa, and I want to make sure I'm meeting all the requirements to keep it valid. Besides the 90-day report and the visa run every 180 days, is there anything else I need to do? Any advice or updates would be greatly appreciated!
