TLDR : Answer Summary
The user initially arrived in Bangkok on a 15-day visa on arrival and later attempted to acquire a 60-day tourist visa. They wish to stay in Thailand to learn the Thai language and are seeking advice on extending their stay, specifically regarding the requirement to have at least 30 days left on their visa to apply for an education visa. A comment indicates that extending the visa on arrival is not possible, and suggests obtaining a tourist visa instead, which allows for a 60-day stay plus a potential 30-day extension.

You cannot get an extension on a VOA, you must get a Tourist Visa as you originally planned as that will give you the time required (60 days on entry and, if your passport allows, a 30 day extension).
