Hi can anyone recommend travel insurance for people already in Thailand (want to get new one, as opposed to extending insurance bought in the home country).

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat in Thailand seeks recommendations for travel insurance options available within the country, rather than extending insurance purchased in their home country. Comments highlight general practices in obtaining travel insurance and suggest considering health insurance instead.

We had the same problem. We are from the U.K. If you are not travelling do you need it, would health insurance be better?

We initially used Stay Sure but then decided what we really needed was health cover.

you’ll want something that covers covid for sure. Unless you’re ok with a 1-300,000b bill if you get sick.

Plus if you fall off a sidewalk or break an ankle walking down a sidewalk you’ll have to pay out of pocket if you don’t have insurance.

When mine runs out I’m going to switch to safety wings. About $40usd a month and it’s month to month so when I go home in august just cancel.

We have full health cover now. Safety Wings is O.K until you are deemed too old!

Normally you do a travel insurance in your home country. But why you not just Google it?

I could do and could give you the answer. But you seem to have internet access too.
