TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the user's inquiry about hiring an agent for their DTV visa application in Thailand. They expressed concerns about trusting an agent who has reportedly faced difficulties with applications via Muay Thai and quoted a fee of 1000 euros. Several commenters advised against using an agent, suggesting that the process could be done independently with some research. They highlighted potential scams and shared experiences of cheaper alternatives and successful DIY applications through reputable institutions. The consensus leans towards self-applying, particularly emphasizing the importance of choosing the right training program to improve chances of approval.

, I did it myself in Jakarta. I enrolled in cooking classes in House of Taste, 8 months. If you apply from your home country, your total expenses should not exceed 750 usd between enrollment and visa fee.

Scamming people for 9 months.

Do you have the 500K in a bank?

what's the scam? Seems the right price softpower course plus dtv visa cost is about 1000 euro depends where u go could be less but for hands off seems right to me

I'd like to see the breakdown of the 37,000 baht. I'd also like to see their success rate. But the biggest put off to me was saying Muay Thai rejections are a relevant issue. Find the right training center with a DTV success rate history and that part is a slam dunk.

@Wannikea ********
the only rejections from schools are the schools not providing the correct documents, there are schools for 10,000 baht and there are schools up to 200,000 baht, it's not so much the price but what you are trying to achieve

if you can read then you do not need an agent. Soft power application is the simplest application to submit.

@Wannikea ********
exactly. And if itโ€™s a decent school they will even assist or the very least advise with the application. Paying an agent to apply for softpower route is literally giving money away for nothing

Talk with compass visa. They've done mine and a friend's. You can do a consult for free and tell them your situation. They'll recommend what's best and where to apply, how long etc. You pay only if you want them to look over and handle all your paperwork. Very professional. You can DM me if you have specific questions about my experience.

I paid them 5000thb which seems like a lot considering the price of the visa but also they've saved me a lot of time so for me it's worth it.

@Jenn *******
but 5000 isn't the entire amount you paid is it...

I pay 15k for class and 13k for the visa on the evisa website from netherlands no need for an agent

Think of it this way, you're going to have to provide most of the paperwork and the agent is only going to review it and then you have to go somewhere to submit it. So you're really paying him a thousand-year-old to review your own documents that you are creating.

As for the school, you're probably better off picking something that you like and will actually do. That way if immigration ever questions you you will have proper answers.

Do it yourself you are applying for the easiest option

If it includes visa + cooking school + agent fees, that's about the price. Can find slightly cheaper options for the same 'package' though.

Iโ€™ve read in this group that applications through an agent are sometimes denied because you used an agent. Could maybe search this group for those posts before you pay an agent

Your getting scammed thatโ€™s way to cheap for a proper agent do it yourself

You dont need an agent . If you can read and put sometime into looking where to apply what are the current requirements than you should be fine. I will recommend you to apply in neighbor countries such as Hanoi Vietnam and Jakarta Indonesia. From what i hear you have a greater chance there as they both have expedited process if you submit the right paperwork . Good Luck ๐Ÿ™

Someone is telling you to trust them, when you have never met them. Trust does not work like that. The fact you are posting highlights your own doubts which you should take note of. You can apply yourself via a well-respected Muay Thai Gym experienced with DTV such as MuayThai Fever or Tiger Eye,
