TLDR : Answer Summary
A 53-year-old expat from Sweden seeks recommendations for health insurance while living in Thailand and travel insurance for trips to the EU. Responses suggest considering local hospitals for insurance acceptance, looking into specific companies like ARAWAN NAMAK for general needs, and emphasizing the importance of not relying solely on travel insurance for serious health issues. Users also provided options for Thai government-backed insurance and referenced the need for both immediate health coverage and travel policies.

Don't take only travel insurance. This is my personal experience. If you get sick badly and you can't fly, travel insurance company don't help you because theirs only goal is get you back to your home country so they don't have to pay.

For Covid insurance purposes or for general? For general I would ask the local hospital you plan to live what insurance they accept. Then pick from those.
