Hello everyone - excellent group for advise. Time for me to ask: my wife and I are coming to retire in Thailand in November. Can anyone recommend Thai Visa Expert as an agent, or can you recommend a worthwhile alternative? Many thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking recommendations for a visa agent as they plan to retire in Thailand. Responses include suggestions to contact a specific group for assistance and consider a DIY approach to possibly obtain a trailing spouse visa. Additionally, there are queries regarding their intended location in Thailand and their country of origin for more tailored advice.

A worthwhile alternative is to do it yourself before you travel because doing that means your wife may be able to get a trailing spouse Visa so only one financial requirement for the main Visa holder. Check your Royal Thai Embassy website to see if this is possible.

Thank you, good point, but conversations did not go well at the embassy. We'll come in on two visas.

So you will need two bank accounts with 800k at least for your first year extensions then possibly switch to the 65k monthly transfer method (one or both) for subsequent years

Fair enough, but is there something wrong with "Thai Visa Expert"?

Oooh, have to be careful. There's a ThaiVisaCenter and a ThaiVisaCentre. It's the second one, right?

I’ve never heard of them. I suspect they are playing on the name of TVC who are a very reputable agent.

Thank you, Stuart, I respect your points. I've been chatting to them for a while, but just get the feeling there's something wrong. I'll contact TVC.

their website still states about visa exempt people getting 30 days on entry. That changed in July. Perhaps they don’t pay their website keepers enough to keep current.
