Hello, I am US citizen applying for DTV workcation from Ho Chi Minh City consulate with my Russian wife as dependent. We're hoping to get this done this month before early April.
Financial proof wiseI have an official investment brokerage proof-of-funds letter showing my assets well past the threshold required for this visa, plus a US bank statement from march showing my monthly income in March. Has anyone been approved at HCM using a brokerage/investment letter rather than a traditional bank statement? How many months of statements did they want and how recent? I earn enough to qualify for both of us but the cash comes to my account every few months, so I am wondering how particular they are about proof of funds.
I'm a freelance with with no employment contract. What did your portfolio look like — did a simple 1-2 page document listing clients, services marketing profiles and income work, or did they want more? Did they ask for a cover letter too?
For my wife, our Russian marriage certificate has an apostille and notarized English translation. Will this be accepted? And can my wife submit her dependent application simultaneously with mine online, or does she have to wait until my visa is approved first?
I will share my DTV experience. Applied in UK so London dealt with everything. Applied on a Wednesday, got a reply the next day requesting more information, i.e., proof of freelance status, proof of savings, and a professional portfolio. In my original application I thought I had shown my freelance status, but they wanted a filed tax return or a letter from my accountant - so I sent a copy of my tax return downloaded from HMRC, my savings had been shown being in 3 different accounts, so I transferred the money into 1 account that day and sent a statement, and as an online tutor, I didn't have a professional portfolio, so I put one together and hoped it would pass. Two days later DTV issued. Thank you very much to the Thai Government, as this 5 year visa is a dream come true.
