I have a Spanish passport and plan to come to Thailand from mid January to end of March.
I’m having a little trouble organising the best way to stay visa-wise, and hope you guys might be able to help.
So from my understanding, I can stay 60 days with a tourist visa (that I would apply for online before my arrival).
I have a few questions:
- is it possible to apply directly for a 90 days visa online, therefore I don’t have to go to the immigration office before the 60 days? (I guess not because impossible to find, but it would really save me time).
- upon arrival to Thailand what will they tell me if I present them with my 60 day visa but I have a return ticket ~75 days later ? Could I simply justify it by saying that I’ll go to the immigration office for an extension or is it best I buy an other plane ticket to a next door country for a few days before the 60 days and then re-enter Thailand, is that possible ?
- last question, I see on the offical website that one of the demands for the visa are hotel confirmations for the whole stay. Ideally I would like to reserve a week somewhere and then travel freely and see without really planing the whole trip day to day. Any recommendations in this case ?
I just checked in at Frankfurt airport with China airlines to Bangkok. Since my return flight ist more then 45 away, the airline wanted prove of onward travel. I explained that I'll do a border run or similar. They called Bangkok immigration. I was told that in case the immigration officer at Bangkok airport wants to see a ticket, I can be refused entry. They gave me my boarding pass and I was good to go.
But, I booked a flight online to danang Vietnam straight away. Not to take any chances!
Going to Thailand for 5 and half months. I am going on a "O"visa ( married to Thai lady) .My understanding is I will get 3 months first then after there will try to get extension. Can I book return trip at five and half months from the get go or do I have to keep it within the first 3 months and then change it. Thanks in advance.
