So I'm going to get a Tourist Visa or an ED Visa (not sure if the paperwork will be ready by the date I need to go). I haven't had a TV in more than 5 years. I haven't had an ED visa in more than 10 years. It sounds like I should avoid Laos for these visas, is that correct? The other embassies are all about the same in terms of difficulty and scrutiny (Yangon, Siem Reap, KL, Penang)?

Thai consulates in the complete region are more strict in issuing Tourist Visa or non Immigrant ED visa to people using them to live long term inside Thailand.

USA - the school said that they did not have any recommended embassy or consulate - "all of them are strict now" was what they told me. However, I thought I read someone say that Laos was, in particular, difficult.
