Hi guys, if I got a Non-B and a work permit in Samui, do I need to cancel them there? If yes, can the school cancel my work permit without my presence? I have my work permit with me.

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you have a Non-B visa and a work permit issued in Samui, you must cancel both where they were issued. The original work permit needs to be canceled, and typically, you cannot do this while on the first 90 days of your Non-B visa. Your school may or may not be able to cancel your work permit without your presence, depending on the specific regulations and their policies.

If you have left your job, what visa or extension of stay are you now on in Thailand ? Did you notify Thai Immigration that you are no longer working ?
I was on the Non-B and work permit even before commencing work with employer A. I am now not joining employer A anymore. Employer B would be in another province.
If you are on extension (after first 90days) based on Non-B, you HAVE TO cancel that extension. But as I wrote, if you are still on the first 90days, you cannot cancel that "admitted until xx stay".
You may not be able to get a new work permit unless you cancel both officially.
So the work permit can be cancelled but will the Non-B not automatically be cancelled as well? I need to get onto a new work permit - does this mean I will do a Covid extension then?
