Hi there.. question..after my previous employer cancel my work permit with the department of labor, I can get a letter or any proof from department of labor that my work permit is already cancelled? Can I get back my work permit book after cancellation so I can show it for new work permit application. I'm moving to another company in another place.. thanks...

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about obtaining a cancellation letter for their work permit after it was canceled by their employer, and whether they can retrieve their work permit book to show for a new application. A comment clarifies that a cancellation letter can be obtained, and also mentions the need to cancel any Extension of Stay at the Immigration office. It is also noted that an old work permit is not required for applying for a new one.
If you're work permit is cancelled you get a letter for this. If you're inside Thailand on an Extension of Stay based on Working you also need to cancel this on the same day at Immigration office. You don't need an old work permit to apply for a new one.
No..i got my 3 months non b outside thailand.. penang embassy..but since my visa has hand written that stating for my previous employer "Company A" and i could not use this visa to for apply new work permit "company B".. so at the moment I'm in Malaysia to get new non b visa..even though my previous visa will expire in 2 months.. then I will get the letter from department of labor stating its cancelled..I assumed that they will give this letter to my previous employer since my previous employer will report the cancellation. My previous employer says..they will report it by tomorrow. My official last day of work is tomorrow.
