I'm currently in Vietnam and plan on getting a 60 day Thai tourism visa. I've already spent 10+ months in Thailand and have a passport full of Covid extensions. I've heard that immigration can be quite difficult at BKK Airport for people that have already been in Thailand for a good amount of time on the visa exempt stamp / Covid visa. My question is, does that worry still exist if I already have obtained the tourism visa from the Thai consulate?

Here's a "fun" "hypothetical": my organization is hosting a conference. some of the participants still have yet to receive their Thai tourism visa despite submitting weeks ago. If they don't receive the visas by tomorrow they can't join, so for all the good it'll do I'm going to email the embassy asking on behalf of our organization (which is registered in Thailand) requesting urgent approval. Because they have applied for tourist visas I'll mention that they are arriving for group excursions and shopping in the city, as well as to attend a short conference, and that their participation is highly valuable to us.

I guess my question is, should I not even mention the conference, as this might lead the Thai officials to reject the tourist visa application?
