Extension Retirement “visas. Pattaya-Jomtien, Pattaya, Hua Hin. Which of these immigration offices will not only accept income letter from your embassy? I mean also requires 65,000 baht monthly transfer?

Good afternoon. I've been extending my annual retirement visa for the past years based upon the 800k method. I happend to be in the German embassy yesterday on other business when one of the staff asked me why I don't use the income letter method to extend my annual visa. Apparently the embassy can issue an income letter for Thai immigration. (costs1350 Baht)

This morning I went to immigration in Hua Hin and indeed they verified this, however an additional apostille would be required for the document from the Thailand department of foreign affaires in Bangkok......very strange. Your comments would be appreciated. Thank you

Hello again folks, thanks a million for your help with my retirement visa question. Immigration say I need a stamped income letter from my embassy instead of the bank statements but my statements show more than the required income each month... is this usual now?

My consulate (Swedish Pattaya) did a monthly income letter (Swedish) for my non o. Now immigration want me to go to MOFA in Bangkok to verify it. The consultant say it’s the rules of immigration I am a bit confused I already paid for a income letter that’s verified by my embassy now I have the verify the embassy? Is this common or they just pick random people?

Tod Daniels, Have you heard anyone being refused an extension of stay when presenting an income letter from their home country that still issues them? I have heard the Immigration Office in Kalasin does not accept a letter from the Canadian Embassy, and a friend had his letter from the Netherlands rejected, until he went to a seniour officer, who accepted it. Because the reports up to now have been that income letters from countries that still issues them were acceptable I just continued to get my money via ATM from my home country, so cannot show bank deposits. If worse comes to worse I will go to Savannakhet and apply for a multiple entry non O based on marriage. However I have been extending a 90 day non O from Savannakhet for 12 years now based on retirement, showing an income letter from the Canadian Embassy and would like to continue with that.

I tried to post this in the Extension of Stay over 50, topic, but couldn't figure out how to do it, an administrator is free to move it.

Extension based on marriage. Income letter method.

How do the policy work regarding the age of the income?

I have a taxation I can have my embassy to write the income letter based on. That is for the 2017 income. From this summer the tax agency will have a new result based on income from 2018.

Will the income letter I can have now be valid for a year long extension. Or.. Do I need to wait for the new, this summer or do they make a shorter extension based of those facts?

I do have the Non O ME based on marriage valid until late summer at the moment. So no panic. I was a bit bored about the borderbounce and thinking that I might be able to use the old income to avoid more borderbounces.

Hi , I'm sure this has came up time and time again, I'm from the uk and currently on 6 month multi visa ( after extensions wd end April) , I'll be 50 in December and want "o" visa/retirement visa what are my best options to do this? I have money in uk but xchange rate is terrible so reluctant to transfer the 800,00 into my Thai bank unless it was worthwhile. Any advice would be appreciated
