TLDR : Answer Summary
A user has applied for the new 10-year LTR (Long-Term Residence) pensioner visa and is confused about the requirement for a letter of acknowledgement. Commenters clarified that this letter is typically related to the approval process through the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), which must be completed before applying for the visa. One said that such a letter was not required for their own application, suggesting that the user should verify the requirements directly with the BOI.

It sounds like you applied for the LTR from the embassy before you applied with the BOI and got approval. You need to submit your approval letter from the BOI as part of your LTR application.

I have that visa and that's not a document I was required to submit. It's also nowhere in the "required documents" information on the BOI site.

Where are you applying from? Go back to whomever told you that was required and ask. You can e-mail the BOI office in Bangkok also. They are very helpful.

It is either the notorized letter from you country that you have no criminal record or the application acknowledgement that you applied for one.

Have you applied via the Thailand Board of Investment yet? You go through them first, then once they approve you apply for the visa.
