Nearly 10 years ago i opened 2 Savings accounts with Kasikorn . One in Pattaya and another in Patong . I made some transactions in those early days but nothing in the last 9 years . I still have both the Passbooks and i wondered if they would still be valid to use to deposit the required funds for Non O Visa. One passbook is showing 30,000 baht balance but i think that money is probably gone as i would have used the card for withdrawal and not gone in to update the passbook. So i have no real way of knowing the balance .
However when i tried to log into my old account i tried to use the " Forgot Password " but it keeps asking for " Merchant ID " and i have no idea what that refers to. So i cant access my account or even know if it is still active. I am not in Thailand currently . Anyone know what Merchant ID is ?
Like many of us I am stranded outside of Thailand. I wonder how long a Thai bank where I opened a bank account will keep it operational without any transactions. In some countries, after a longer or shorter period, inactive bank accounts are closed automatically
