Hello gents, I will be going tomorrow to the Thai consulate to apply for my setv. Quick question. In the application it says nationality and nationality at birth are they both the same thing? I'm only asking because I have dual nationality, was born in venezuela but my parents are Lebanese and I'm also working and living in Lebanon. Note that I'm using my one and only venezuelan passport. Any remarks on filling the application for people with dual nationalities will be mostly appreciated. Will keep everyone posted.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the difference between 'nationality' and 'nationality at birth' on a Thai visa application, particularly since they hold dual nationality (Venezuelan and Lebanese) but are applying with a Venezuelan passport. Comments suggest that the nationality should reflect the passport used for the application, and recommend keeping the application simple to avoid confusion.

When filling out any paperwork for some thai bureaucratic thing ALWAYS follow the KISS maxim; Keep It, SUPER Simple. ;)

I would recommend do the simplest (nationality=nationality at birth). Less confusion for people = easier to get visa

Nationality of the passport you're using to apply for the visa

I really hope so. It would be very bad if I get denied due to such a small issue

As Robert Lagas advises. They won't cross check... it doesn't matter (and apologies for slightly misunderstanding your question)

they will know because when I applied at the Thai embassy In Lebanon , i applied using my venezuelan passport and now my venezuelan passport has 2 tr visas stamped in Beirut Lebanon. Plus I don't even have a 2nd passport.

Yeah, but how will they know? You don't need to reveal to them that you have another passport.

I have got a visa in Vientiane and never showed my 2nd passport

I understand that my only concern is that the current visa I'm on is from Beirut Lebanon and they will clearly see it. So I'm scared they start asking questions when they see my adrey of residence as v nezuela while my previous tr visas are from the Thai consulate in Lebanon

I'm a dual national. The only passport that the Thai authorities need know about is the one on which you wish to apply for a visa

alright ill state the adress of my home in venezuela. Thanks for the useful info. Cheers

I can promise you that the consulate in Vientiane is not going to make phone calls to Lebanon to ask how did you apply for the visa there and what documents you used.

yes but I applied for two visas in the Thai embassy in Lebanon and I gave them papers over there that stated that I worked and lived there. Wouldn't that give conflicting information to the Thai consulate here in Vientiane

So you know you can not apply for the Visa using your Lebanese passport. It is the best to avoid any information that you are Lebanese unless you want to go back to Lebanon and apply there for a Visa.

Should I state my address in the country of residence as my address in Lebanon or should I state my address in venezuela. The logical answer is my address in Lebanon since I work and live there but I'm just asking because I don't want any conflict regarding my usage of a venezuelan passport. Also note Lebanese are only allowed to apply to a Thai visa in their own country
