Dear group, I need some advice regarding visa regulations. I want to come to Thailand for a few months (December - May) as a tourist, and I plan to travel occasionally to neighboring countries (Laos, Cambodia). I know there are multiple-entry visas for 60 days, extendable to 90 days, but what happens next? Can I apply for a new visa after that period? How does the application process work at the embassy in EU countries? Until now, I’ve been using visa-exempt entry, so I’m not sure how the regulations work in practice.

Hey everyone just seeking some advice please. I fly to bangkok on 17th Nov and my flight back to Scotland is 31st jan.

I am wanting to leave the country and visit Cambodia, bali or Vietnam anyway but confused with the rules. I know I can get a 60 day tourist visa but I won’t be in a position to pay for my first hotel till a couple of weeks before I leave (due £ in), I also won’t have my other flight to the neighbouring country booked as I’m going with the flow and wanted to decide where to visit once I arrived in Thailand.

Will I be okay to either;

1. Travel without any visa then halfway through for 17 days and return and get the other 30 days visa free or

2. Apply for the 60 day tourist visa and then extend without paying for any hotels in advance of my application?

I’m away for 77 days.

Hope this makes sense and any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks 😊

soon, i will apply for a Non-O e-visa (retirement) . On the e-visa site, they give you an option to chose between One Entry or Multiple Entries, but they warn you that, if you ask for Mulltiple, you "prove that you have a genuine reason to visit Thailand on a regular basis" and there will be a fee difference also. What i was thinking of doing was, while in Thailand (for about 4 months), maybe to visit one, maximum 2 neighbour countries. Would that be a "genuine reason"? What prove should i give them in that case? Am i right to say that, if my visa is only One Entry, i can not visit any other country while staying under it's validity?

Hi, What's the procedure these days to apply for a non-B after getting a job? I'm already in the country and on my ''exempt''? Do I have to go to the Thai embassy in my home country? Thanks.

I have a return flight booked from July 8th-6th October. I’m planning on traveling to neighbouring countries in between to try and stick to the 30 day entry visas. I saw online that I will have to show I’m exiting the country within 30 days. Is this true?

What is the turnaround time for applying for a tourist e-visa? My visa exemption will expire soon. I am thinking of leaving to a nearby country real quick and come back when it is approved. How long must I be out of the country to get stamped back in for visa exemption? Thanks again for the help!

Serious Questions:

Asking for serious feedback. If you are commenting here just to take pot shots against those needing a Visa, Extension, Border Run solution... then take a hike

Looking for feedback.. clarification... correction... update on status of neighboring countries. Hopefully this info will be helpful to others.

Yes - I know the Thai Border is currently closed. And know of the Reentry Restrictions, etc.

Last I read...

Malaysia - Not open until Sep. 1.

Cambodia - Technically Open but complications. Is the $3000 Deposit thing on hold or? Quarantine?

Myanmar - One time said Aug. 1 but read there was a delay until Sep 1?

Laos - not sure.

Flight into: Possible or not? And Quarantine Y/N

Vietnam...

Bali....

Singapore...

Philippines...

Laos

Thank You.

Sorry if this question was asked before already:

So I just wanted to know what my options are... my work permit will be soon canceled (around 1week from today) and I am on an extension of stay here in Thailand. I know that if my work permit will be canceled I have to go to immigration to cancel my extension and than have to leave before midnight thailand...

so my question is:

I would like to stay still around 60 days in Thailand.

Option 1:

Is it possible to just take a flight at night to a neighbor country maybe eat there dinner and than fly back to Thailand and get a visa exemption stamp ? ( do I really have to show them another flight outside of Thailand within 30 days ?) and will it be easy for me to extend it another 30 days ?

Option 2:

Should I try to make an appointment with the embassy in Laos and apply for a tourist visa ?

The problem with this is... i would need to get the 7 days extension first and I also can’t book yet my flight or hotel in Laos since I don’t know how long it takes to get an appointment....

Additional info: i never entered Thailand before in visa exemption stamp I only had 1 single entry Ed visa and 1 multiple entry Ed visa both issued in Germany for my prior internship here in Thailand.....

Would appreciate any help since I am quite limited on time....

Any ideas about a country nearby that a South African passport holder could enter on a passport with under 6 months validity?

Someone is waiting for their new passport (and the old one is NOT canceled yet) and they need to come back to thailand on a 30 day visa exempt entry and wait for their new passport to arrive.

And before you start the real rule for entering thailand is that you must have more time left on your passport than you are being stamped in for NOT that you need 6 months on the passport to enter the country. That 6 month rule is to BUY a thai visa from a consulate.
