Now that the Ministry of Foreign affairs has spoken and clarified the DTV, I'm really interested in applying as a freelancer (not the one you are thinking)
Since I'm in Thailand now, what would be the most convenient neighbour country to go to apply for it?
I could technically do all the application online and after submitting all the documents just go outside Thailand and submit the application from overseas? ๐ค
Any experiences, or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you ๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses applying for a DTV visa as a freelancer while currently in Thailand. It clarifies that applications must be made in person at a Thai embassy or consulate in a neighboring country, as none support e-visa applications. Recommended nearby countries for visa application include Vientiane (Laos) and Phnom Penh (Cambodia).
You apply for a visa based on where you are PHYSICALLY. None of the neighboring countries support evisa. So you would need to go there and apply in person at the Thai embassy or consulate based on their policies, and if they need an appointment, etc.
The e-visa application has a section that is for "proof of your current location" as well as requiring you upload a plane ticket from the country you are applying at to Thailand.
