TLDR : Answer Summary
The situation regarding travel from Thailand to its neighboring countries (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia) is complicated due to closed borders. As of July 2020, all land borders are shut, making border bouncing impossible. Flights are limited, with Cambodia potentially requiring a deposit for entry, which may also have been affected by recent changes. Myanmar's borders are closed until the end of July 2020, with strict quarantine rules in place for repat flights. Updates on visa amnesty extensions are expected soon.

I'm presently stuck away from home in Thailand but if I could get to Laos or Cambodia would be a step closer and a lot cheaper than being in uk or Europe

announcement pending imminently regarding Visa amnesty extension. sit tight until then.

Myanmar borders are closed until 31st July and no announcements after that yet. They do have a 14 or maybe 21 day quarantine for repat flights that have brought back overseas Burmese.

Curious also... I really don’t know. Obviously many tourists trapped/enjoying each country. And not sure how they have handled. EU is still under amnesty

Not quite sure I understand your question but all land borders to neighbouring countries are shut, so no border bounce available. I also don't think you can fly into any of them right now either, perhaps Cambodia if you want to put down a USD3k deposit but I heard that may also have been scrapped now.

You also need a Health Certificate saying you are Covid-19 free within 72 hours of arrival. And pay ~$162 for testing after you arrive including 24 hour waiting with your group and 3 meals. If anyone in your group tests positive, then you are in for a 14 day guaranteen (What the $3000 Deposit is for).

I don't think the $3000 is scrapped but some reports are saying they are not asking for it. But you should have it ready.

Also, I hear they are not issuing new visas. So you can try the Cambodian Embassy but you may be out of luck. Pretty sure Visa on Arrival is suspended.

But good luck finding a flight in. And I believe All land crossing are only open to business traffic.

Don't forget the Health Insurance that covers Covid.

yep I heard no visas are being issued at moment.

Fair to say if you've decided to chance your arm on the amnesty and a border opening up soon then you're likely to be out of luck...that's ignoring current entry requirements too.
