I am planning to do a visa run to somewhere close and cheap. I have never crossed a land border before so I'm unsure of the process with stamps, visa or any other requirements. Any recommendations? I am thinking of doing a land border crossing but open to suggestions

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around a visa run from Thailand, focusing on potential land border crossings to neighboring countries like Cambodia and Laos. Participants share their experiences and recommendations, cautioning about potential costs and scams at certain borders, especially at Poi Pet. Suggestions include easier options such as flying to Laos for a full visa. Requirements typically include a passport, money, and possibly vaccination proof, while visa on arrival fees depend on the individual's nationality.
Easier to fly laos from bangkok and you can get a full visa again. Land border runs are restricted to limitations

Avoid Poi Pet if you are not familiar with border runs, it's a shitty border. Laos is very easy, either Nong Khai or Mukdahan border. You don't need anything, just your passport, and some money. Not sure post-Covid, this may have changed.

Passport, money, and probably vaccination proof.

If you're in Bangkok, with Myanmar still closed, the closest is Aranyaprathet/Poi Phet. There used to be a minimum overnight stay in Cambodia, not sure if it's still in force. The Cambodians like foreigners to spend a night there to get ripped off and help the local economy ๐คฃ.

Land border runs can be costly and a pain to deal with. An army of ppl waiting to try to rip you off. Take a flight to a neighboring country, Vietnam, for example. Do an immediate turnaround, or spend a few days there, then come back.
Robert Curtis " close and cheap" would doctate this. This is what he said. So how does that translate different to you!?! Reading isn't one of your strongest attributes.
I did a border run to Laos whilst in Udon Thanni....one hour bus ride to border one hour through Thai, Laos Thai border 40 dollars to Laos immigration back on bus so about 3 to 4 hours from Udon Thani
