METV question

When applying for METV Visa in my county of residence but the flight booking I provide appears to depart from a neighbouring country of my country of residence, will I get issues with getting METV Visa approved? The reason for departing from a neighbouring country is because I live close by the border and flights are a lot cheaper over there.

Thank you in advance🙌🏽

I'm German, my passport is German and I live & reside in Germany. I would like to depart from Czech Republic, instead of Germany. I will take the bus from Germany to Czech Republic and then take my flight from there.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry concerns the approval process for a METV Visa when the applicant plans to depart from a neighboring country (Czech Republic) instead of their country of residence (Germany). Multiple comments suggest that while the application must be made from the country of residence, showing proof of travel from the nearby country, including bus tickets and return flights, can help clarify intentions and support the visa application.

That should work. It's not uncommon to fly from a neighbor country. Are you providing proof of address as well? If not you could consider adding that to avoid confusion as to which embassy you are supposed to apply with.

I would like to do that. I have read uploading some bill that states my address is sufficient for it, right?

afaik not every type of bill is accepted. But something like electricity should work.

You must apply from the country in which you reside. If you have a visa, the immigration police do not care if you fly from a neighboring country to your place of residence

With your application ...

..Suggest you show the bus ticket departing your home country to the airport in the neighboring Country ...

...show PROOF of flight departing from neighbor country to Thailand...

And show flight ✈️ departing Thailand within your first 60 days from arrival to a SE Asian country

And a ticket departing that country to Thailand... A few days stay or week in neighbor country is okay.

Shows the need for a METV multiple entry tourist visa

Appreciate your help. I'm wondering if they also accept bus/train tickets for border crossing into another SEA country since I'm planning to do it. Or it's probably better to to have a flight ticket, right?

have a flight ✈️ departing Thailand and returning. Book it on a website which offers free cancellation within 24 hours.. print out the booking and cancel it within cancel time period.
