I couldn't find anything on the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs website that said the QR Code was good for 72 hours. In fact, it stated that any changes required a new Thailand Pass.

 I agree. With Thailand trying to bring back tourism, and huge numbers of people having bought tickets, ASQ hotels, insurance, etc., if Thailand just throws everyone's money and plans away, people will feel like they can't trust Thailand enough to schedule vacation plans there.
