TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai government has announced an immediate suspension of all future Thailand Pass applications, which has raised concerns among travelers who have already submitted their applications or have been approved. Comments from the community reflect a mix of frustration and confusion about the implications of this suspension for existing approvals, the status of the Sandbox program, and ongoing travel plans. It’s a horrendous process. I fought 3 weeks w/my insurance company to get me a 1 page letter instead of the 44 page booklet. Then they sent it unsigned that took another 2 weeks. I was ready to apply when a friend told me that my flight wasn’t any good because the airline had routed me through New Deli, there was no agreement in place between the two countries at the time. So that took forever to fix. Again I thought I was ready when I got a flight # change notice. I had to wait 2 days to get the change. I was now ready to apply. I down loaded Google Chrome. Converting the files to JPG and reducing everything to under 5Mg required me to drive 1.5 hrs to my bro’s to get it done. Because I’m bringing controlled medication with me I had to apply for a drug permit. All drugs hv to listed under trade name & generic name. You have to identify the contents of each medication and the mg of each (some contain a mixture). Three phone calls later to my pharmacy and a letter fr my doctor. Everything I had to in JPG had to br converted to PDF … back to my brother’s house again. Then they sent me an e/mail requesting a pic to the pills and the bottle. That was easy until I tried to reply and my computer did not recognize the Thai language e-mail address. I asked a Thai friend to translate it but nope that didn’t work. Someone said I had to reapply. Nope that didn’t work. Finally my Thai friend had to call. I got the right English e/mail address and the next morning I got my permit.

I landed up applying twice for both my son & I. Shortly after applying the first time I was told you hv to add your flight itinerary in the other docs area which I did not. I had yet to receive a reply from them but I reapplied. We received our Thai passes within 5 hrs of applying about a week ago. Yesterday I received an e-mail stating our Thai passes had been denied as we didn’t include our Paid test & go hotel receipts, which we did. Holy crap another panic .. on verification it was the 1st application that was denied. Shortly after I received a notification that our flights had changed .. on checking I’m leaving 10 min later and arriving 10 later flight number remains the same. I finally hv everything and my Thai Pass to go. All I can hope now is that the Canadian Gov doesn’t impose an “Avoid all Travel” notice that would null & void my insurance and force me to be in Canada w/i 10 days. As there no Covid trip cancellation I wud be out a substantial amount of money including the non-refundable apartment I rented for the month. Im going full-bore ahead unless the travel advisory changes.

I feel so bad for all of you that are almost completed your documentation. It’s a bit of a nightmare. I wonder if they really understand how much effort and stress this process is.
