I would actually go to the much more lenient Penang office and use a service (they charge something like $11. it's ridiculous to go there to the office yourself, with these services available.) it's better to get the extension sooner rather than later so you will be able to plan your trip. Remember you can only do something like 2 of these types of visas annually as far as I can remember
