 You must tell the embassy, SSA where you are. They could require a physical to ensure you’re still able to receive your benefits. If you miss your appointment they could cancel your benefits. If you informed them they can set you up an appointment in the county where you reside.

 Not true. I’m on SSD and live overseas for 14 months now. SSA is aware of my situation.
