Not gonna lie but I can't get my head round all this as there are so many versions because of people's different circumstances.

I think the best option is to travel back to Thailand and get the correct information from a legal firm or immigration.

We can't afford any mistakes and once we leave the UK we don't want to return unless for a holiday.

Retirement visa

I have another question, if I'm retired and living in Thailand and my UK passport is coming up for renewal after say 10 years, do I have to fly back to England to get it renewed.

My brother lives near Bangkok with his Thai wife so I'm hoping this will go in our favour when we retire there.

we are preparing to leave the money in an account permanently and hopefully get a 2nd account for food and bills
