@Paul ******
the poster literally says he already checked in online and doesn’t need to interact with them (no bag)

Yeah, that’s the rule, but an idiotic one (duplicates tm30 for one) and not strictly enforced. You would have zero problems here in Koh Samui, but Bangkok is more strict. However the realistic worst case scenario is 2000 baht fine

if you enjoy spending time in lines…

@Paul ******
not necessarily. I’d go straight to the gate, if they want to see your visa they will call you up

@Jack *******
you replied “correct” to the message not even mentioning DTV. It was specifically about visa-exempt, and for that they might ask for a ticket

@Jack *******
it's not. Certain airlines (AirAsia included) sometimes ask for onward ticket unless you have a "proper" visa in your passport. The check-in process can turn into a major pain in the back - you'll have to buy a ticket to a third country on the spot or be denied boarding

Anonymous participant some immigration offices don’t ask for tm30 (Samui for example), or you can show up with the old one and play dumb farang. It’s not like they’re super strict about that. Or check in some cheap hotel nearby for 1 night and get tm30 from them

You don’t need tm7, if the agent tells you that, go find another agent. That person is complete and unabridged idiot

@Sefton *******
if the local immigration officers don’t want tm47, so be it. They are the ones who might potentially fine you for the lack of it, no one else cares

HCMC immigration lines: very surprising. I had to fly to Hanoi a couple of times in the recent months and never spent more than 10 min in the line
