Thanks Alastair. I did go to Immigration last week, in Bangkok, to their information booth at the entrance. Unfortunately manned by trainees, who were very pleasant but inexperienced. They just handed me a photocopy of financial requirements, which only had generic information. Oh well, best not to renew retirement visas last minute.

So, my 800,000 has been in for over a year. I go to Immigration and queue up, then go downstairs to Bangkok Bank and update my passbook and ask for a bank letter of guarantee! Then ready for the officer meeting.
