Doesn't matter how far you live from immigration you must do that's the law.

You should have filled out a Form TM 30 within 24 hrs if staying there copy if owners house book and copy i owners ID card signed by the owner and register with immigration

For two and a half years starting in the year 2001 I use to come to Thailand for 30 Days every three months never had a problem but things might have changed since then

I've. Seen where it can take 4-5 days. Much easier to go to immigration unless you are two hours away

You are not suppose to. Live here on tourist visas. Get a non o then maybe you can extend it

You need to obtain the certification at the immigration office you are registered at

Not really but you can apply at your local immigration office. Much easier than the airport
