I have a 5 year Indian visa which is still 3 year valid, I will also loose this with a new passport. But I am still thinking about it, but probably easier when I am in the EU.

Then what is abuse of Visa Excemption Entry, can I only enter 1 time in my lifetime on visa excempt? Or is it 1 time a year? Is there a clear rule about this?

You need a visa for Laos and Cambodia, which can be get at the border. No thai visa needed.

I am in the same situation, in Bali and going to Malaysia and Thailand in 2 weeks. Kota Bharu used to be easy but last time i tried to get 60 day tourist visa over there was maybe 5 years ago, they wanted bank info and tickets to and from thailand.
