that is wishful thinking. 50 /50 split? In the west there are laws setting out marital assets distribution. Here there are no protection for any foreigner. As for any child from the marriage... child support should be arranged. Unfortunately the mother will insist that said coverage will also include her other children. So good luck even with a lawyer... it is a much steeper hill to climb over here than in the West.

both FedEx and DHL are expansive... but lets face it.... more reliable than Thai Post. EMS here okay.... but for international in or out takes.far more time.

Had EMS from US took 4.5 weeks to get here. Thai Post lost it at arrival arport then ook 4 weeks to find it and get it up to us in Tak province. It only took 2 days from LAX to BKK.!

The trick is to send it by Registered Mail. Usually takes 17 to 16 days from US anyway. FED EX or DHL will cost somewhere around 150 US.

that can work.... IF you get the right person on the otherside of the desk . But a dam good question. As a liaison with US mission... I will ask. It would be logical if the amounts add up.... and it is a government issued document... but I can see issues beyond the logic vs Thai issue.

Why not simply contact the Admins of this site. They will help.

Say goodbye to those funds. Or... get a really good law firm to fight it and pay extra for that service. Frankly... it was not a very smart move to start with. Write it off as a lesson learned and move on. But a good social media posting/s might help take some of the sting out of it.

Just don't do financial dealings without a binding contract for God's sake!

hmmm... interesting. My police contacts say other wise. Wish they would get on the same page...lol. But that is good news I guess. Still I would worry about the individual discretion officials have on hand. Buy again... good news.
