yes right, fair enough. Thank you for your input! 😊 But ive heard that tourists generally are not allowed to get a thai bank account? Is that right? And that those that did anyway basically got their accounts frozen..? Some even multiple times ive heard. So keep cash handy for emergencies i guess. 😅
well at least in my case, i do. But of course that could be the case for some. Either way, to me its more a form of protection towards what if they choose to freeze my funds. Which they can easily do, it can happen with any bank of course, but with the thai banks this is happening very actively now. So i would much rather keep bigger amounts of capital at a place like revolut or wise than in the local thai bank accounts as they are under strict scrutiny right now and get frozen.
What's the point of having a thai bank account? Isnt using revolut or wise sufficient living in thailand? Or what other benefits do you get from opening a thai bank account that revolut and wise cant do? Is it to be able to do the scan to pay features?
