speaking from experience?And you know nothing about my relationship! That’s not even my story! I’m not your typical foreigner who meets a girl on a dating site let alone a chick in a bar. Then hoping she’s loyal to me. Do me a favor and don’t apply to my relationship, the common relationship dynamic between the typical lonely-heart tourist guy and a Thai girl. You have no clue!

Paul Weinhardt Strictly your opinion! It’s never a “one-size fits all.” Maybe the first year I would say is the fragile time where two people need to spend more time together. But we are past that time and we’ve been together many years now that our relationship is strong enough that this dynamic works for us so nobody else can truly know since they are not in our shoes! Feelings have not faded and on the contrary we have grown stronger because we give each other space. How many couples do you know broke up because they were cooped up together in quarantine during the pandemic for months on end?? And worst case resulted in domestic violence?? Couples need time apart in order to grow stronger together!

And for your information I am planning to bring her to me once Japan borders open.

fair enough! I am in the same boat as you mate: I have a long-term Thai Teerok here as well whom I’ve been involved with for over two years now and we’re making it work by me coming here two months out of the year. Of course I have a special edge that most don’t have in that I am a permanent resident in a totally different first-world Asian country, Japan. So I guess sometimes I take that for granted and that’s not an option others have. Prior to the pandemic she was able to visit me as often as I visit her but now the Japan borders are closed for the immediate future it’s only possible for me to come visit her two months out of the year but then I need to get back and get to making money again in Japan. That’s my story.

Would gladly consult my crystal ball for you except it’s broken from overuse and all the crystal balls are sold out at the shops because everybody in this forum bought them out!
