Very good point... Totally agree that a 5 Star studio hair salon qualifies for a higher price list, but since this dual pricing is based on being a Foreigner status OR even in most cases simply the color of our skin, the fact of speaking Thai would not make much of a difference, unless the foreigner who speaks Thai can make the hair stylist laugh, then the lucky foreigner might qualify for a good friend discount, (Been there, tried that numerous times) but even with all this effort, that might only be as little as 20 baht... 555 Even when trying to remain as positive as possible on this subject, it is instinctive and a stubborn mind set to many Thai's that Foreigners should pay more regardless if there is a justification or not. Its like saying since Farangs generally have a bigger head, but not necessarily more hair, justifies charging more OR if one is heavier in the BAHT BUS then it's more expensive... Or when we get stopped by our beloved serve and protect Thai Police, 50 Bahts fine for Thai's and 500 Bahts for us welcomed foreigners.... I would like to see what happens if someone would dare try to pull this off in a developed country... It would be at the very least entertaining that's for sure.

If yo lost your bank card in the ATM, simply contact the Bank who owns the ATM and they will gladly return your card to you... Having said this, doing this at the time you lost it would have helped quite a bit, but depending on how much has past, banks usually hold some a period and destroy for your safety. Try giving them a call and hope this helps

Point well taken and I think everyone can appreciate that this concept does exist, but does it have a place in a competitive market and what are the effects. Lets put things in perspective and try assessing the effects of a potential 2 tiered scenario versus equal standard approach. Lets take 2 Naturally squeezed Orange Juice stands on either side of the street. One where everyone is created equal... Where have I heard those words before? Hmmm?!? ... And another with 2 tiered pricing based on skin color or ethnicity, where they come from, how much they made last year or the color of their clogs for that matter. Which one would the majority choose and why? Case and point, if Thailand truly wishes to attract the masses, better to focus on all the great things to be offered and the amazing adventures to be had as opposed to how many extra nickels and dimes can collected from the ones they are trying to attract.

Agreed, but one has to think that a great portion of moneys to build most universities come from Tax Dollars which foreigner do not participate in which goes to reason for the inflated Admission costs... Same goes for Thai's National Parks double pricing debate... A great portion, if not all moneys come from Tax Funds, so goes to reason why Foreigners who once again do not participate in paying for these amazing parks are asked to pay more, BUT when it comes to Private Enterprise establishments, funded in great majority by Private Investment talking about double pricing, that is an entire new level of discrepancy and should be greatly challenged if not down right shunned by everyone involved. A disgrace to say the least on an industry already in shambles and a big torn on the side for the rebirth of Post-Covid Tourism development here in the land of smiles.

Yah, I heard it being different in other offices. Here in Petchaburi, TM30 signed by the landlord with Passport size photo will be sufficient... Originally TM6 arrival stamp was necessary, but recently been abolished by Thai Gvt, so not sure what they will ask for in the future to demonstrate arrival date. Both Prachuap and Petchaburi offices charge for this auto formatted letter. 500 at the Prachuap office and 300 Bahts at Petchaburi. Gotta love equalized billing ;o)

TM 30 Form easy to fill out and easy to find online, then take that to Immigration and usually 300 to 500 Bahts will get you a certificate of residency ( = A rubber stamped letter from Thai Immigration)

The post spoke about <the argument of taking a risk>... Although I will admit if nobody knows about it, the risk is limited, but as the post was asking if <there is actually a risk>... Another one I just thought about is there is a Thai Police task force dedicated strictly to monitor Online activities and they have access to all the Bot technology available, so for anyone thinking they don't have time to monitor everything, it's good to be realistic about what technology can do and what tools are being used. Good to note, in most developed countries it takes a Judge warranting a search (=Search Warrant) prior to any Police doing a house visit, but here in Thailand,

Important to note, in a constructive debate there is no place for casting judgment, so perhaps check out <On the up side> post just a few seconds later. Also, as mentioned in numerous posts including well known and respected Richard Barrow as well as Group Expert, Stuart Cummings, although nothing is official yet, there has been talk about establishing a Nomad Visa for a few years now, but with the effects of Covid requiring many to work online, Thai Gvt as acknowledged the new normal of Covid as brought forth a much greater demand for this type of Nomad Visa and the Gvt have formally expressed the greater need to take a serious look into how to implement this new type of Visa and has mentioned in Mr Barrow's report, there has been formal talks and more to come.
