How many visa runs are allowed for Filipino citizens entering Thailand by land, and what is the duration of stay with visa-free entry?

Hi everyone,

I jsut this week renewed my Retirement Visa for another full year, but trying to map out the Visa Status situation for my Filipina Girlfriend...

I am aware that Filipino Citizens are now allowed 60 day Visa Free Entry with another 30 Day extension for a total of 90 days stay.

Recently heard from an Immigration agent that the New Thai Gvt have also made a few adjustments in regards to the border crossings, so eventhough I recognize it is totally to the Border Control Officer's discretion and even if it is Not a written rule, the general concensus seemed to be 2 Visa Free Border Crossings per calendar year would not raise any concerns...

We will of course eventually have to look into a long term visa,

but in the meantime, I would appreciate some clarification on

<What is the number of Visa Runs allowed and if we enter by Land, how many days would a Filipino citizen be allowed on a Visa Free Entry?

Thanks in advance and Best Wishes for the upcoming holidays. ๐Ÿ–

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Filipino citizen can enter Thailand without a visa for 60 days, which can be extended for an additional 30 days for a total of 90 days. However, recent experiences indicate that immigration practices are becoming stricter, and while there is no formal limit to how many visa runs can be made, those attempting multiple entries in a short timeframe may face scrutiny or denial of entry. It is at the discretion of the border control officer, making it unpredictable.

What you are asking doesnt exist. There is no policy, and there is no law that says how many times you can do it. Since they increased visa exempt to 60 days, they've been cracking down hard on people that enter for 60 days, get a 30 day extension, then leave and return. Even being out of Thailand for a week isn't fooling immigration. They know why you left and returned without a visa.

Some people have been pulled out of line at the airport after only their first time doing this. Does that mean it is sure to happen? Of course not. You could get away with it 3 or 4 times. Or you could be denied entry the 2nd time. There's no guarantee because everything is at the discretion of the immigration officer.
