Unfortunately one person from immigration can tell you one thing but then another interpret it a completely different way. Personally I wouldn’t want an overstay of any amount on my record just incase you meet that one immigration officer at the Airport who sees it another way.

I have done it 5 times with my Thai girlfriend and you don’t have to go to any embassy anywhere. I can read very well.
