Dobby You are confusing 2 different types of visas. You do not need proof of income for a non- o visa but you do need a lump sum of 800k baht to keep on a Thai bank account.

I’ve done 6 tourist visas in 6 years and never had a problem with 1. There must be a good reason if someone doesn’t get one.

Unfortunately one person from immigration can tell you one thing but then another interpret it a completely different way. Personally I wouldn’t want an overstay of any amount on my record just incase you meet that one immigration officer at the Airport who sees it another way.
