If you are leaving in a month and are fully vaccinated then you can go to Phuket for a week without quarantine and then travel to any open provinces after that so long as you pass a covid test after 5 days.

Its very straightforward to get the OA in the US and then you dont have to deal with immigration for a year except the 90 day reporting.
