Hi Phil. That's good advice. I'll pm you too just to be sure I understood.

Hi Graham, thank you for helping us. My 21 year old daughter is on ed visa that expires in one week. We are American. Do you recommend we do a border bounce or visit immigration for an extension? The confusing thing about the border bounce/visa run is that being American and visa exempt she doesn't need to 'apply' for a visa...is that correct? So if she doesn't need to apply are we simply going to the border, stamping out, stamping back in?

ok. When you say come back in…since we are visa exempt do you mean immediately or would I need to plan for a few days?

Ok! I was afraid the new scrutinty with ed visas required we 'zero it out' despite it expiring by border bouncing and coming back on tourist visa exempt but would LOVE to not have to fly out and just go to Jomtien and get an extension.

oh no. My daughter is on the ed visa which expires before she receives her 'renewed' 10 year passport in the mail. The current passport she has until then is an emergency passport that expires in October. Do you recommend we just go to immigration and ask for an extension while we wait for her 10 year passport to come in 2-3 weeks? Or do you think a border bounce out and back in and then getting tourist visa exempt since we are from USA?

I feel that her student visa is just going to be scrutinized given all the hoopla.

What if your ed expires on January 30th? Can you do a border bounce and come back visa exempt? (american)
