I never quite got why people would be okay not to have health insurance in the first place. Must be some "Trump" I just don't get as a European. Would not want to travel the world during pandemic times without a health insurance. Costs me 1.50 USD / day for unlimited coverage. I consider this a well worth investment - maybe the best one I ever made. Though I hope I will never need to get a return from that investment.

New norm at least for a few months longer. Eventually, they will just accept vaccinated travelers to cross borders as before the pandemic. I am guessing by mid next year.

Quarantine-"free", maybe, partly. Pretty sure one would still need 1 night + 1 test in Thailand, possibly in Cambodia as well. And also new Thailand Pass or something. So that is buying one or two test & go packages at about 5,000 baht each. So while it is good border runs start to be possible again, it will be more expensive and less spontaneous than in the past.

With RT-PCR (unlike with antigen tests) the risk for a false positive is slim to none. That is why it is considered the gold-standard of testing. False negatives can rarely occur, but that would not cause you immediate issues, would it?

Last time, I had to provide my nearest consulate with Royal Gazette texts. Sais it all, I guess. Oh well - it is going to be worth it again, I am sure. A least, this year things are much easer already then when I came last year.

Already rebooked my flight, leaving November 7 instead of November 3 now. Knowing Thai speed, probably a wise precaution. 😉

Even IF the new Thailand Pass would be ready by November 1st (and I doubt it), that would not help those due to arrive in the first week of November. Since the the old COE form does not cater for the new entry requirements, factually, there currently is no way for people coming to Thailand under the new November regulations. Right?

All good in theory. But now: In absence of the new Thai Pass, what option do I chose in the old COE form ( if I want to make use of this new one night only entry? Currently, there are only two options Sandbox (either Phuket or Samui) or ASQ. Also, where to book Sha Plus hotels with transfer in Bangkok. Many things still unsolved for practical use it seems.
