I have no idea. I just came to collect after leaving my application over night. When I arrived the woman at the desk said my boss wants to see your old passport...to which I replied....my OLD passport. I though I misheard several times. They told me to keep trying to find it to which I said this is not possible for me to get hold of it right now, they just said keep trying until I eventually said I need my current passport back so I can leave.
I have one valid UK passport. I have the old passport, they sent it back to me with a cut on the front page I guess to show that it’s an old passport. The old passport expiry date was 2018. No fake passports that is not how I roll.
My first entry to Thailand was September 2019 using my updated passport. In the UK they give you your old passport back but cut the corner to show it’s no longer valid.
So I have my first entry into Thailand September 2019 which was 30 days and I extended for another 30 days and applied for the 6 month ED visa.
I did not realise they would want to see my old passport at the embassy so it is at home in my documents folder which is currently in Thailand from my entry in September 2019 as the plan was to hopefully have the ED visa accepted. I came here with just a small bag because I had all the documents listed. My new passport is perfectly valid it was my phrasing of my experience that caused confusion. I kept my old passport because I did not just want to throw a passport away. I was able to show a scan of the front page of my passport because I have lived in Australia for 5 years on a fully accepted permanent visa. I have emails with the scan and so I was able to pull that out of my sent mail but I do not have photos of every single page.
