that's right. Foreigners can buy condo as long as the project has foreigner quota left. It's about 49% foreigner and 51% thai ownership if i remember correctly. The reason is no one actually owns the condo even if its your name on the deed. Its "co-owned" with the developer
be sure to get that in writing. They dont always work in sync between embassies/consulates and immigration in thailand. You mentioned you have a son here so you probably have some kinds of experience already
I'm curios. May I ask why you didn't consider Permanent Residence? I took a look at it and it seems too time and money consuming. Is it the same reason?
