the extension is always June 29 to June 29. I always go in 30 to 45 days before June 29 (So late May). They tell me to come back June 29 and they stamp it saying from June 29 to June 29 the next year.
but I had 1 month + (May 21 to June 29) under consideration. Got my new extension. June 29 it expires June 29 next year. So 1 month consideration plus 12 months on the extension.
Todd Daniels I don't understand your 11 month comment. My extension (marriage) expired June 29. I went in 21 May got the under consideration stamp. Went back 29 June got the extension to 29 June 2019. So 12 months.
The background of the overstay may be important. Say one guy overstayed 4 years because his spouse was very sick and he was taking cars of his kids. He was so frustrated he forgot. Another person overstayed because he just didn't give a crap. An IO just might be more sympathetic to the first guy. But then, none of us can really say what the IO will do.
