TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about their status after having overstayed in Thailand and subsequently paying a fine upon exiting in June 2016. Responses from the community suggest that the details of the overstay and the circumstances surrounding it can impact the user's potential blacklist status. Some members advise checking directly with the Thai immigration authorities or attempting to reenter Thailand, as there are varying opinions on whether the user is currently blacklisted or eligible for reentry.

The background of the overstay may be important. Say one guy overstayed 4 years because his spouse was very sick and he was taking cars of his kids. He was so frustrated he forgot. Another person overstayed because he just didn't give a crap. An IO just might be more sympathetic to the first guy. But then, none of us can really say what the IO will do.

the REASON you overstay has no bearing on whether you're banned or not. I know someone who was in a coma in the hospital and ended up with an overstay over 90 days. The hospital didn't bother to check his passport and get him a medical extension BEFORE he ran up the overstay. He's recovered now and banned from the country for a year.

Not understand this. He overstayd, payed the fines and left. What ever reason he had, does not make his entry back into Thailand. more convenient. It is over, done and dusted.

He only paid the equivalent of 40 days overstay. He paid his fine. I think he can very well re-enter.

He paid the maximum fine, it is 500 Thb a day with a maximum of 20.000 Thb. So after 40 days there is no fine, but if enough days or getting coaght black list comes in the picture.

, do you have any other stamps in your passport OR do you have any paperwork you signed when you stamped out and exited the country?

I think the only way you're going to find out IF you can come back is to actually try to enter the country.

A thai consulate isn't going to know and would sell you a visa whether you're black listed or not, because all they do is sell visas.

It's gonna take tryin' to enter the country to check and see.

OR Google is your friend, there has to be some service out there that can check to see if you're blacklisted (for a fee).

Overstay is overstay. No ifs and buts about it. It’s already a big mistake on OP’s part. But the question is about can he re enter again that’s about it. So stop being long winded and judgemental.

Overstay is the topic. Avoid overstay, and avoid having to ask the question. Maybe someone can learn from the answer.

Overstay is not the topic. It’s the reason. The topic is blacklist and re enter again to the kingdom.

He is free to share the reasons and length of overstay, we are not here to judge his decision to get into overstay.

Robert Lagas understand your point but would be nice to hear from someone who overstayed that long.

The overstay rules came into effect I believe 20 March 2016. You seem to have exited the country June 2016, after a 4 year overstay, which would indicate a 5 year ban. If I am reading the stamps correctly.

Correction, it was March 2016 when that rule went into effect. The length of your ban (if any) would depend on how long you overstayed.

I believe you asked, but I don't believe for one second the answer you got. I am sticking with the fact that thai consulates can't check blacklisting.

Only if the overstay was more than 90 days you would then incur a one year ban. However if you had been caught at any time on your overstay you would of been imprisoned escorted to the airport and deported and have to pay for the privilege. You would also of been banned from the kingdom for 5 years. .

They must have told you if you're blacklisted and also stamped your passport with a stamp like this:
