I was there for 7 befire covid. Also no tax.

Chiang Maj was my best for eight months....rented for full time though

Monthly rate then was 7500Thb....but annual.was only 5500.Fully furnished air-conditioned apartments with balcony for cooking.

Traveled a lot inside and outside Thailand. ....never a problem.

The ones the got me were the ones that called themselves "economic refugees"...living a life of luxury in Thailand but constantly complaining about Thais and making no effort to learn any language or the niceties of Thai culture.
